While planning for your visit the fascinating Volcanoes National Park in Musanze previously well-known as Ruhengeri, can be accessed private and public transport starting from Kigali, Gisenyi and Kisoro.
Most of gorilla travelers access the park by private rented cars or with tour operator and others use the public bus.
But if you want to do gorilla trek and you want to use public bus you are required to travel a day before and stay at Hotel Muhabura and then on the following day you will be required to arrive at the headquarters of ORTPN in Kinigi, at the park entrance, by 7:00 am, although this is not a very dependable option for those who hope to arrive by public transport. However, there is public transport from Musanze to Kinigi.
